One aspect of automation in a ceramic plant is the ability to correctly and efficiently move kiln cars or products. Consideration also needs to be given on how to slow down and/or hold kiln cars in place. In a well-engineered system, the placement and type of mechanical brakes plays an important role. STAR offers various sizes and designs of brakes ranging from simple “leaf spring” brakes to spring tensioned wheel type brakes.
